Furniture making and drawing have been hobbies of mine for many years and in 2002 I enrolled at the University of Tasmania’s School of Art to initially learn more about contemporary furniture design and improve my furniture making skills. Three years later I started Printmaking and liked it so much that I made it my second Major. I find the mark making quite an enjoyable process. As you cut the wood or incise the plate you see the image slowly building up before your eyes. Some of these images can take up to 30 hours to complete.
Furniture and printmaking are quite complimentary modalities for me. I use my woodworking skills to create print installations and have incorporated my aluminium dry point and steel etching plates into pieces of furniture. For more information click the link at the top of this page.
